Daughter of Glorious Jesus is a gospel trio from Ghana made up of Cynthia Agyare Apiiadu (Lead Singer), Edna Agyare Sarpong and Monica Owusu Ansah.
The story about how we came together to form the group-Daughter of Glorious Jesus is a very long one but there is a short version. We started singing individually at very young ages but we were brought together by The Arch Bishop Akwesi Asare Bediako and the wife Lady Stella, to form the group whilst we we members of the choir at Ressurection Power and Living Bread Ministries International in 1987. Then in two years later formed the group.
We released our first album Awawanwa Din ( Wonderful Name) in 1990 and two years later we released “ Mebo Yesu Din Daa” which won us our first award (Best Gospel Group)in 1992 in the Entertainment Critics Assaciation of Ghana (ECRAG) Awards. As the saying goes, the rest is history… Over the last 28 years we have sang and released several albums featuring both Twi and English Contemporary song.
We are motivated by the impact our songs makes in the lives of the people that listen and as Christians, we are elated when we hear testimonies of how God has touched their lives through our songs.
Onur mission from the very beginning has been to win souls for Christ and it continues to be the same a quarter of a century later. The Daughters of Glorious Jesus is a name we are proud of, we hope you are too.
We would love to hear from you so get in touch on our contact page and send us a message.
Daughters of Glorious Jesus entered the Ghanaian music scene about three decades ago with their explosive first album 'Awanwandin' a collection of powerful gospel tracks that instantly dominated praises and worship in the country and made them famous. Their unique vocals were admired all over. By the time the second album 'Mebo Yesu Din Daa' was released two years later, they had established themselves as divas and were sought after to perform at functions, churches and gatherings.
Kwamina Dadzie writing for Ghana Tourist Coach Media was told by lead singer Cynthia Agyare Appiadu that it all began at Santasi in Kumasi where the three met for the first time at the late Rev. Amoako's fellowship and they later joined Resurrection Power and Living Bread Ministries. Sisters Cynthia and Edna had been singing from the age of eight, taking after their mother, a chorister at the Presbyterian Church. When they met Monica(who later became their sister in-law) the trio joined the choir at Resurrection Power and performed at crusades and other functions of the church. So unique was their talent that they caught the eye of the Assistant to the Archbishop Akwasi Asare Bediako who did the introductions.
Archbishop Bediako mentored and inspired them on to form the award winning gospel group they are today.
They currently have eleven albums to their credit and are awaiting the release of the latest one titled 'Abba Father'...Kwamina Miaful Dadzie, Ghana Tourist Coach Media.
